Proactive Technology Membership Organizations
Promotes Collaboration
Between Regions
New Jersey Technology
Council and Montreal’s Inter logiQ Network
Sign Memorandum of
Understanding
MT. LAUREL, N.J.
(June 25, 2008)
– Leaders of the New Jersey Technology Council (NJTC) and the Inter logiQ
Network of Montreal signed a Memorandum of Understanding in an effort to promote
technology and partnerships between the member companies of each organization.
Following many punctual
collaborations over the years, the agreement is the culmination of more than six
months of discussions and mutual participation in events held in New Jersey and
Quebec. Most recently, eight IT executives from Quebec, whom three were
finalists of the SGF-CEO of the year Award visited New Jersey to participate in
two NJTC programs and meet with professors from New Jersey Institute of
Technology and Stevens Institute of Technology to discuss the possibility of
commercial and academic collaboration. The SGF-CEO of the year finalists even
presented their companies at an event called “What’s Next in IT”.
Additionally, while
here, the Canadian executives held 27 one-on-one meetings with representatives
of IT companies from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Earlier this year,
three NJTC executives attended Inter logiQ’s CEO Vision summit in Mont Tremblant,
Quebec, where three New Jersey executives were pre-selected to present their
companies.
The signing of the
collaborative agreement was witnessed by Richard LePage, director of Princeton’s
Canadian Government Trade Office and Susan Pak, commercial attaché of the Quebec
Government Trade Office in New York City. The Memorandum of Understanding states
that each organization will promote the other organization’s major activities,
while their respective members will have access to the privileged members’
rates.
“Partnering with a
local firm is a great springboard to commercialize abroad. There are lots of
similarities between inter logiQ and NJTC members. Their enthusiasm and devotion
are indisputable. The Network is thrilled by this partnership”, says Nicole
Martel, CEO of the Inter logiQ Network.

The organizations
already work together in promoting an “IT Industry Forecast” among their members
as well as IT companies in India, Europe and the Far East. The survey is
compiled by professors at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and the
University of Quebec in Outaouais.
“The NJTC is so excited
to have made this connection with our counterparts in Quebec. The New
Jersey-Quebec partnership promises many years of exciting collaborations and the
exchange of meaningful information and dialogue. Additionally, we’ve already
come to know our new friends as great networkers and we look forward to making
the very most of what will surely be an excellent source of strategic business
opportunities”, said Maxine Ballen, CEO and Founder of the New Jersey Technology
Council.
